Hailing from the Mother City, this team combines experience with young talent and is led by their captain, JP du Toit, and vice-captain Elmar Cilliers. Both players recently represented South Africa at the Elite Men’s level in the Europe/Africa qualifying championships.
Roger Bester was the Elite Men’s coach and has himself won medals as an Elite Men’s representative player.
His son Matthew Bester, Chris Swanevelder, and Luke Mattheus also represented SA in the Elite Men team and at Age Groups in previous tournaments.
Herman Lahey won a silver medal for the SA Master’s Men’s team at the same event and has been playing in Cape Town with the club for a few years now.
